Borealis Data Center is pleased to announce the addition of two new key members to its team as part of our ongoing growth strategy and commitment to enhancing service capabilities across the Nordics. We warmly welcome Tero Tuononen as our new Country Manager in Finland and Júlíus Benediktsson as Project Manager in Iceland. Both Tero and Júlíus bring extensive expertise and experience that will be instrumental in supporting our operations and strengthening our presence in these critical markets. 

Tero Tuononen: Country Manager, Finland 

Tero Tuononen joins Borealis Data Center as the new Country Manager for Finland supporting our Kajaani Campus and future growth. Tero is an experienced leader with a strong background in operational quality, management systems, and sustainability.  

Prior to joining Borealis, Tero spent 18 years at the renowned CSC – IT Center for Science in Finland, where he held several managerial and director roles. Before CSC, Tero spent a decade at Nokia. 

Throughout his career, he has demonstrated expertise in both technical and administrative roles, excelling in building process-oriented organizations and driving growth through strategic initiatives. More recently, Tero has been involved in sustainability efforts, where he successfully built an organization dedicated to advancing sustainability goals and developed an ambitious sustainability roadmap. 

He holds a Master’s degree from the University of Helsinki, with a background in computer science, mathematics, and adult education. 

Júlíus Benediktsson: Project Manager, Iceland 

We also warmly welcome Júlíus Benediktsson as our new Project Manager based in Iceland. Júlíus is an experienced MBA with a strong background in business management, product and business development, and project leadership. He has a proven track record of managing operations, optimizing processes, and leading teams to achieve results. 

Before joining Borealis Data Center, Júlíus spent eight years working with pharmaceutical and logistics companies, improving Cold Chain Logistics processes with innovative IoT solutions. His experience includes leading large-scale international projects and driving operational excellence across Europe, Asia, and the Americas. Most recently, he served as Managing Director at Ýmir Technologies ehf., where he gained valuable executive experience in business strategy and project management. 

Júlíus holds an Executive MBA from the University of Iceland and a background in business administration and electronics. His proven leadership and project management skills will support our operations and project delivery in Iceland as we continue to expand our infrastructure and service offerings.
